Let Dion and Amber talk about their wedding :

Your Love Story : We met online almost six years ago. at the time we both were extremely dedicated to our work and wanted to find a companion.

The first date was awkward. Dion was Much more talkative and seemed to be a serial dater. I was more reserved and cautious. He continued to pursue me and won me over with his willingness to get to know me and how much we had in common. Our love for travel began our second year together we took our first trip to curacao. A year later, we both decided to quit our jobs anD travel for 8 months all over europe, asia and africa. We fell deeper in love, having to spend everyday with someone can either make or break a relationship. it made us stronger. The winter of 2016 dion conspired with our respective families and surprised me with the sweetest proposal ever. He rented out an art gallery and had pictures of us throughout our relationship hung up around the gallery and our closest family and friends came to watch him publicly confess his love and propose. Our story is just beginning.

When we were planning the wedding we quickly concluded that we would be having a destination wedding. we love to travel and we wanted to share that with our family for a weekend. morocco has been on our list for some time and it served as the perfect destination given its proximity to the east coast (where most of our family is) and after all it is known to be one of the most romantic cities.

While looking for a space to privatize for our family for the wedding weekend, we found taj omayma. it was perfect and we knew right away it was the place for our wedding. david, of taj omayma, was so easy to work with and extremely helpful in sourcing vendors for almost everything we needed. we had the reception at taj omayma as well.

My dress was custom made by Shanice, owner of honesty gray. i wanted a unique dress that fit my personality and so i opted for custom. i am forever grateful to her for taking me on when her schedule was actually booked, being flexible with meeting dates (due to all of my travel), and just being amazingly supportive and helpful through the entire process. meeting her was special because i not only got the dress of my dreams, but i also gained a new friend. i also have to give a huge thanks to my cousin, ashley, who found and referred shanice for my dress.

We ordered custom signage from a few different vendors but there were two that were special to the occasion.
Miss design berry – created the custom his/her drink signs and the guestbook both including beautiful portraits of dion and I erin breean creative – created all of our acrylic signs from the custom welcome sign to the seating chart which displayed some of our favorite travel destinations as table names

Theme : Navy blue and Champagne

Discover Now an interview of the photographer David Bacher :

I’m a professional photographer originally from the U.S. who has been living and working in France for 14 years. I was in or near Paris until recently I moved to the beautiful city of Nantes. I work in several photographic areas. I work for the international press, for corporations and for individuals. I shoot approximately 15-20 weddings a year.

I really like the people aspect of being a photographer. No matter what the assignment is I end up meeting interesting people and through these contacts I learn interesting things about the world. This wedding we covered together was a great example. We met a lovely couple from Washington D.C. which is where I’m from. Since I actually spent three days with them I had the time to meet and speak to several of their guests, many who came from the same general area where I grew up in Virginia. The interesting part was that we all came together in Marrakech on the other side of the world.

My most beautiful story may be a project that I photographed in northern Sweden on the Sami reindeer herders during the winter months. The light is otherworldly.

I’m trying to think about what my next project will be. First I’m trying to publish my first photo book of Paris-NYC. Afterwards I’ll move onto something else.

I’m thinking about doing something in northern Africa, maybe in Morocco or Algeria. I love intense colors and these are places where you can find them.
